Do you wear a size 28 or 29? How about a 38 or 40? If so, you are in luck! Blackbird knows it's hard for you to find cool clothes in your size and so we always buy your size when available. As a special thank you to our big and small sized customers we are starting a new sale just for you.

Greige Cancelled Spring 2006

Due to shipping and production issues, Greige has decided to cancel their Spring 2006 line. What a shame since many Blackbird customers fell in love with their sweaters, doe-skin jackets and pants this last season.

Since this brand fits many of our hard to fit customers, I will shop around to see if I can find something else to replace it so you won't go without. Please note that I will be buying Greige for Fall/Winter 2006 so you won't go without for too long!

Store Closed for Construction

Starting January 14th, Blackbird will be closed for construction. We are building a loft that will accomodate our office, a backstock area and later this year, more shopping and dressing room space for you. We hope to be open again 9 days later but you know how construction works... We'll keep you posted on our progress and let you know when we reopen.

Bootsy Holler - Wallpaper Exhibition

Blackbird is lucky to have a piece of loveliness adorning our South wall. Bootsy Holler, a local (Ballard) photographer, is now displaying her rose encrusted wallpaper. In my opinion, Bootsy is THE BEST photographer in Seattle and one of the BEST people ever. I also like her dog Pony.

For the piece, Bootsy took black and white photos of roses, enlarged and duplicated them and applied the roses to enormous patches of pink wallpaper. Since its creation, the wallpaper has adorned an entire room in an exhibition in Seattle and has been on display at another location. Next time you are in Blackbird shopping, take a moment to enjoy the roses (I almost said "stop to smell the..." but that was a lame idea).

Here's a sample of the piece but seeing it in person is much better.
