NEW CDG PARFUMS ADDITIONS

This season there are a couple new additions to the Comme des Garcons Parfums line: 8.88 and Monocle Hinoki.

8.88 "We began the journey with Safraline, a molecular derivation of saffron and then composed a poem around it, bringing together ingredients of the highest quality such as the essence of pepperwood and curcuma, the finest coriander, the most luxurious geranium. Adding amber for its colour, and incense and patchouli for their ritualistic significance and many other ingredients to create the imaginary smell of gold."

Monocle Hinoki “The inspiration for this fragrance comes from a perfectly still, slightly chilly spring morning spent soaking in a tub at the Tawaraya in Kyoto. It pulls together our memory of the mosses and trees outdoors and sharp notes
of the boxy hinoki tub.”

INTRODUCING PAMPLEMOSSES

Pamplemosses's first collection just arrived in the store! These guys stopped by the store late last year to show us their collection of 100% bamboo t-shirts and we fell in love with them. The t-shirts are cut very long and narrow with a great wide neck. The neck opening, as well as fabric weight, make for a perfect summer piece, whether it is worn alone or layered. Check out their website for further information on the brand's story and details on their bamboo fabric.

In addition to the cute free-hand drawings which are shown on two t-shirts we received, we were also able to get blank ones. The t-shirts are all undyed and show the true color of bamboo fibers and all silkscreening is done with water-based inks.

DIET BUTCHER SLIM SKIN 1ST DELIVERY

"Stone Bio Wash" skinny jeans in black ($375)
DBSS's standard jeans for this season is in this very cool stone wash. The signature double back pockets are present, as well as a metal demon back patch. The denim has 5% polyurethane mixed in which, while allowing the denim a bit of give, is also going to keep the material from stretching out too much and losing shape. Both the minor details and excellent narrow fit combine to make a pair of jeans unlike anything else.

New pieces from Adrian Cowen and Diva Pittala's Pleasure Principle have arrived in the store! These pieces are all quite unisex and work perfectly sized up for a more oversized feel.

GOODBYE ARI!

Last week included Ari's final in-store time with us. By the end of the week he was off for San Diego and from there will be heading to his final destination of New York. Ari will forever be a part of the Blackbird family and we will miss him dearly!

HARMON S/S AND THE CONDEMNATION OF 475 KENT

People have been asking about arrivals from Harmon's spring/summer collection and we just received word that this season's parkas have begun shipping. Unfortunately these delays are part of a bigger issue which has involved Andrew Harmon as well as around one hundred other artists. Andrew Harmon has been working out of his studio in the 475 Kent building in New York and unfortunately late last month the tenants were ordered to evacuate and the building was condemned. Andrew is working hard to prepare his collection and it will be made available as pieces are finished.
