(NEW YORK) The Jack Spade boutique took advantage of its artsy SoHo surroundings to debut its first exhibition—with many more to come—of vintage metal flake motorcycle helmets curated by Andy Spade, company creative director Matt Singer, and sales and design member Chad Buri. While guests Glenn O’Brien, Horacio Silva, Jay Errico, and Mickey Boardman helped themselves to a Texas-style BBQ, Spade proudly regaled in the culmination of the 16 helmets. Turns out all three men rode dirt bikes as kids, and to emphasize the fact, Spade installed in his Greene Street store window a 25-year old Honda Trail 90 two-wheeler that he found on eBay. “Mine’s a little different than Andy’s,” Singer quipped of his own bike. “I’m a little younger.” Next up for display: the trio’s assemblage of rockets.
