NOM DE GUERRE A/W 07 "YOUNG AMERICANS"

The wait is finally over. Blackbird is proud to present the latest collection from Nom De Guerre, one of our favorite brands. Judging by all the phone calls and emails we've received already, it's one of yours as well.

Their Fall/Winter 2007 collection is themed after the idea of “Young Americans". The inspiration for all the garments was taken from the years just before the outbreak of the Vietnam War, when the youth of America were inseparable from classic garments like blue jeans, plaid shirts, and argyle sweaters. Each piece captures a frozen moment in the United States history, time-tested clothes that could have very easily come off the back of a kid who just learned he has been drafted.

To quote the beautiful lookbook from this season, "...The
selection is also based on the dreams, discoveries, and concerns of America’s youth as they leave for what has since been called, America’s longest war."
