EDITH MACEFIELD

You may have read last week about Edith Macefield here on the Blackbird blog. This week Leo and I (Nicole), along with a handful of Ballardites, elected to tattoo that little house of hers on our bodies. For each of us, Edith, her actions and her house have varied meanings, but what is consistant is that we feel strong enough to carry these meanings with us to our graves. Ballard is not just a neighborhood. It's a place for people like Edith.
