SNOOKS EAGLIN

Snooks Eaglin passed away nearly one month ago at the age of 79. He was quite like any other. A true gem in the New Orleans jazz and blues scene. Blind from soon after birth, Snooks began teaching himself to play guitar around the age of five. Despite having been recording off-and-on since the 50s, there is unfortunately very little output available. Pick up nearly any recording you can find, though, and you will immediately be blown away by the his playful guitar playing and vocal style. My first exposure to him was Country Boy Down in New Orleans and I have been facinated since.
