Two years ago, Ballard’s menswear store Blackbird (that's us!) hosted a warehouse sale in its tiny office space where 8 local boutiques presented their goods. Who knew that over 1000 people would show up, surround the building, wait in line for hours and shop, shop shop!
Since then, Blackbird has hosted three more successful sales featuring some the best designer boutiques around. The event happens twice a year, generally in April and October, and acts a FINAL CLEARANCE sale where prices are slashed to the absolute lowest. Last year Seattle Metropolitan Magazine named the Ballard Boutique Warehouse Sale one of the BEST Sales of the year!!!
This year, the sale is shedding its Ballard roots and heading to Bellevue’s Meydenbauer Center to take advantage their large conference rooms, ample parking and the added support and services the center offers.
As always, the deals will be BIG; ranging from 50% to 90% off the original retail price of designer clothing, shoes and accessories for men and women, plus household and gift items. We advise our customers to bring backpacks and rolling luggage to help cart away their purchases.
This sale is not just for ladies. Since this event started with Blackbird, most of the customers that attend are men, or women shopping for men. With Marqsmen, The Finerie and Tweed participating, you can stock up on plenty of basics, like suits, jeans, sweaters and sneakers.
NEW THIS YEAR: We’ve added a Buy Green vintage and second hand area to promote the recycling of designer goods. Items have been collected from local designer store employees so you can expect to find quality, fashionable clothing, shoes and jewelry.
