ALDEN FOR BLACKBIRD: HAUFF'S DEPARTMENT STORE BOOT

Designed by Blackbird in collaboration with Alden of New England, makers of custom boots since 1884. The Hauff's Department Store Boot was inspired by early 20th century uptown gentleman's attire. You might have found a boot like this at Hauff's, Ballard's first department store, originally located on Ballard Ave. (1913 to 1918) and then on the ground floor of the Ballard Building on Market Street where Blackbird's corporate office now resides.

Alden
Blackbird 39621 Hauff's Department Store Boot
in black

STYLE: High top blucher boot with perforated straight tip
LAST: Barrie (same as the Blackbird Short Wing Blucher)
UPPER: Black Regina calfskin grain leather
OUTSOLE: extremely durable, water resistant double Waterloc outsole
INSOLE: vegetable tanned leather insoles with the "Made expressly for Blackbird" heel pod
MID-SOLE: cork mid-sole with steel shank for long-lasting strength and support
LACING: flat waxed lacing through no-show blind eyelets
WELT: black Goodyear leather welt construction
LINING: fully leather lined

This pebble grain leather is capable of maintaining a high gloss, but left more to its own devices, it'll develop a broken-in patina faster than the harder shell leathers that Alden offers. Dress these up with a tailored heavy wool suit for fall or roll those jeans, throw on your car coat, and stomp out into the wet weather with confidence.

Note: These shoes run large. We recommend sizing down half a size. If you don't see the size you're looking for, please contact us for assistance.
