Come experience the core brews and seasonal offerings of Seattle’s Pike Brewing Company. Taught by Abil Bradshaw, this class will change the way you drink and think about beer. Learn the history of your favorite beverage, while enjoying the unique flavors, colors, and aromas of several well-crafted microbrews. Learn how beer is made, how the alcohol gets in the beer, why beer is carbonated, what gives beer its color, the difference between ales and lagers, the difference between micro- and macro-brewed beers, and much more. We will be tasting some very strong beers, so make appropriate transportation accommodations!
Abil Bradshaw is a professional beer appreciator. She has worked at Seattle's Pike Brewing Company since 1996 at a variety of jobs and is currently the tour-guide, hosting beer tastings and seminars by appointment only. In 2007 Abil completed her Masters in Nutrition from Bastyr University, which gives her a unique perspective on beer's place in our dietary history. Her expertise and passion about beer are evident in her explanations of the history, character, and chemistry of this venerable beverage.
Classes are on a first come basis but you can drop by the store early on Sunday and secure your place on a list. Maximum class size is 15 and class will be one hour long.
