I wish I could have found a photo of a NYC guy in a hunting cap but it didn't happen. But I think this will give you a good idea.
He's dressed in almost the exact combination of how my grandpa and my dad dressed back in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Whenever I am in New York, it warms my cockles to see fellas dressed in rustic garb. But the key is that you must not only look rustic but you must be rustic. It pains me to see a young hipster in his sparkling new heritage gear. Roll around in the dirt a little before you take your new look into public. That's what the hunters do.
But with all of that, what I really want to see is someone mix dark charcoal wool outdoor pieces with their drapey goth Rick Owens/Julius/Diet Butcher Slim Skin stuff. I bet I can pull this off.
