Michael Teer is the owner of Pike and Western Wine Shop. Pike and Western has been in the Market for 35 years and Michael has worked there since 1980 and owned it since 1991. While he loves wines from all around the world the Piedmont region of Italy is special to him.


Class Description:
"The wines of Piedmont have enthralled me since my first trip there in 1986. Subsequent trips have allowed me to get to know the region and its people and see how inextricably food and wine are linked in their culture. Though it is a world famous wine region Piedmont is very insular, clinging to its tradition even more fervently than other parts of Europe. And its grape varieties remain uniquely Piemontese. Unlike most other famous grape varieties, dolcetto, barbera and nebbiolo flourish only in the hills of Piedmont." - Michael

In this class, Michael will introduce us to the grape varieties and wines from this beautiful Northwest corner of Italy and so begin our own discovery of this unique place.
