Impromptu is a wonderful new thing that some of our Ballard friends are up to at the Ballard Farmer's market. Every Sunday from 11:00-3:00 in the backyard of White Sage Studio, some folks will take fresh ingredients and produce purchased from the booths and farmers at the market, and transform them into wonderful foods for all to enjoy! We at Blackbird wanted to extend their invitation to join them this Sunday.

Below is a brief explanation from Ashley Helvey about Impromptu:


Impromptu is an in-house food stand that strictly uses ingredients from the Sunday Ballard Farmer’s Market to create unique, seasonal, fresh food for the public while supporting local farmers and organic farming practices.


We believe that by supporting farmers by cooking fresh, creative dishes from their products we will inspire the community to buy local foods directly from farmers rather than from large suppliers. Our philosophy is a wholesome approach to preparing food that focuses on providing the public with freshly cooked, local, organic food that is simple and fun!
