Built by Wendy designer, Wendy Mullin has been a behind the scenes fixture in New York design since moving to the city in the early 90's. In addition to founding Built by Wendy as a college student, Wendy has worked as a designer for Steven Alan and X-Girl (Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth's line), and has found success as a stylist, costume designer, and author of several popular sewing books.
The line itself mixes classic American cuts with pop culture inspired prints and fabrics, and is known for providing its cult following of faithful wearers with thoughtful casual clothes that radiate personality. Prints and textiles are often designed in house, and Wendy's sharp eye for detail and vast range of influences keep the line's simple pieces unique and easy wearing.
