June is National Candy Month, and our very own Blackbird Candy Shoppe just made USA Today's list of "10 Great Candy Stores Across America." The list was compiled by Kaie Wellman, author of the popular travel book series Eat.Shop Guides.From USA Today: If June seems especially sweet, there's a reason. It's National Candy Month, an excuse to throw cavity caution to the wind. Author Kaie Wellman says she has noticed a trend toward new candy shops, including ones that feature both gourmet confections and familiar treats like gumdrops and lollipops. "It harks back to simpler times, to things that aren't so threatening."
