BLACKBIRD HAZLEWOOD JEANS IN JAPANESE NEP DENIM

Our latest iteration of the Hazlewood Jean is the same easy slim-straight fit that many have loved but this time around it is in a "nep" [small entanglements of yarn] denim straight from Japan. This special denim was something we have not seen around very often and we jumped at the opportunity of producing our jeans using it. The neps create a subtle texture to the jean that sets it apart from standard flat denims.

If you own a pair of any Blackbird Hazlewood Jeans, we would love to see how they are wearing in. Please take some shots and e-mail them over to brian@blackbirdballard.com and we will get them up on the blog.

Blackbird - Hazlewood Jeans
in Japanese nep denim
DETAILS: Meet Blackbird's newest in-house designed jean, the Hazlewood in Japanese Nep Denim. This denim has neps in it which cause a slightly uneven texture and little white dots throughout.

This jean was inspired by Ballard bar Hazlewood (think Lee Hazlewood) and its owner Drew Church. A few years ago, Drew created a Blackbird cocktail which contains squid ink and remains a staple drink to-date. Hazlewood is about the size of a postage stamp and generally where you will find the Blackbird gang and our favorite customers sipping old-timey inspired creations.

MADE IN U.S.A., 5-Pocket jean, raw 13oz Japanese Nep denim in extra dark indigo, dirty dark brown/gold stitching, all black unbranded hardware, extra tough over-stitched belt loops, chain-stitched hem in varied lengths sizes: 29 - 36 (32 and 34 lengths) Sizing recommendations: Fits true to size. Size down if you prefer a slimmer fit.
