The NFB 2011 Fashion Summit is just two weeks away! A not-to-be-missed meeting of some of the brightest minds in fashion, design, art and business from all across the globe, coming together right here in Ballard at the Nordic Heritage Museum, with our very own Nicole Miller acting as moderator. Yes, of course we are excited!
The summit is designed to inspire conversation and exploration between master professionals, industry leaders, emerging designers, fashion students and trend setters. Key themes that are woven throughout the summit include slow fashion, sustainability and design, cultural heritage, and the business of fashion.
Day 1, Sept. 30: forecasting fashion trends, slow fashion, ethics of fashion, and how to build a brand. The day will conclude with a screening of “Rabbit Hole,” Icelandic designer Mundi's first foray into film which premiered at Paris Fashion Week 2010.
Day 2, Oct. 1: the business of fashion, highlighting the personal journeys of success from some of fashion's most respected experts including Pauline Brown, Steinunn Sigurðardóttir, Áslaug Magnúsdottir and Yvan Mispelaere. The day will conclude with a thrilling performance by the mesmerizing Henrik Vibskov, a Blackbird favorite!
We urge you to act quickly to register for a spot, as space is limited and this is truly a big deal. To register, visit the Nordic Heritage Museum in Ballard, download a PDF of the registration form by clicking here, or stop by Blackbird or The Field House to pick up a form.
PSST! Write "Blackbird sent me" on your registration form, and you will be eligible for Museum Member prices, a nice little discount! Also, if you need any more convincing, every Summit attendee will receive a gift bag that includes a voucher good for 20% off their next purchase in Blackbird stores.
