FAVORITE ITEM - A.P.C. IMPER MAC ANGLAIS GABARD LAINE COAT

One of the stand out pieces from A.P.C.'s fall 2011 men's collection is the Imper Mac Anglais Gabard Laine coat. What these words essentially translate to is "penultimate black, fitted Mackintosh coat that you'll be wearing for years to come". Though it is heavy enough to be a go-to winter coat, it's also light enough to cover spring and fall as well. The iconic, tailored fit of A.P.C. is all over this piece as are the high quality craftsmanship and one of a kind fabrics.
The coat is made from 47% wool 38% ramie and 15% nylon. This combination of fibers creates a soft but sturdy material that is warm enough to keep the cold out and light enough to weather moderate temperatures. Features include one interior welt pocket and a buckle closure at the neck to keep the cold completely sealed out. It has a straight cut in the body and has a mid-thigh length. Fully lined with a warm combination of wool and nylon, it is a great outer layer over any outfit and and versatile enough to pair well with just about anything.
A.P.C. is a French ready-to-wear brand, founded in 1988 by the Tunisian born Designer Jean Touitou. A.P.C. stands for 'Atelier de Production et de Creation' and is known for its clean-cut and minimalist nature, as well as simple, chic, and modern design, with military over-tones. The brand makes great use of denim and high quality fabrics. The quality of Touitou's fabrics are matched by a similar dedication to ensuring his designs fit appropriately and distinctively.
