Set to arrive any day now are our first deliver of Imogene+Willie jeans. Many of you may be familiar with this superbly branded American made denim company that is based in Nashville, Tennessee. Started in 2009 as a smaller DIY version of the Sights Denim Systems of Henderson, Kentucky (where owners Matt and Carrie Eddmenson had worked at for many years until its closing in 2008), the company has grown into a cult classic of U.S. denim manufacturers. Their cult status is about to change now that the Eddmensons have decided to begin a very select wholesale of their denim which was previously only available at their converted gas station brick and mortar and on their website. Blackbird is proud to be one of the few retailers in the world Imogene+Willie have chosen to sell to.

For those unfamiliar with Imogene+Willie, here's a quote from their website that's tells it like it is: "We honor an age-old tradition: our jeans are made in American, by Americans. What we can’t sew in-house we outsource to other makers in Small Town, USA. We all take a lot of pride in our brand and quality is job one. I don’t want to come off sounding cliché, but this is the one thing we do that we feel can really change the state of the world we live in. You can’t buy everything made in America, but if you try, you can come close. If history has taught us anything, it’s that this great country of ours will be in even more trouble than it already is if we don’t support the work of our fellow Americans."

Stay tuned, the jeans are on their way...
