OUR FATHERS: BILL NELSON

"This is my great-grandfather Bill. This picture was taken around 1910 when he was 17 years old. My mom said he was known as a kind of a wanderlust, and he left his home in North Dakota to travel around Montana on his horse. There, he eventually became a horse wrangler (hence the outfit). He also drove the family out to the West Coast from the Midwest in the family's Ford Model T in the 1940s to "see what's out there," which I think is pretty cool. I'm glad that I've come from a guy with an adventurous attitude, great style, and fearless spirit."
