This weekend in Seattle there are a few notable events happening that have inspired us here at Blackbird to head out on the town, and to the green, in our finest springtime gear.
The Ballard Urban Picnic (BURP) is happening on Saturday, May 1st in the Ballard Commons Park and lasts from the opening at noon until the end of the day. Check out

here. All our favorite local food joints will be there, including Dante's Hot Dogs, Veraci Pizza, Verite Coffee, and Cupcake Royale, bouncy toys for the kids and a beer garden for grownups, a movie ("Up"- be honest, you cried) around 8:30, and there are bands playing throughout the day!

Also happening this weekend is the Kentucky Derby, and Tavern Law is celebrating by throwing a party starting at 2pm Saturday and invites everyone to enjoy a frosty mint julep while watching the races. Word is there's a special prize to the best dressed derby-goer...
