HAPPENING IN BALLARD THIS WEEKEND
This weekend is a big one for Ballard and we invite anyone and everyone to come over and enjoy the festivities. To begin with, the Annual Sidewalk Sale (pictured above in the earlier, more tame hours) started yesterday with just about all of the area's vendors (including ourselves) having something to offer at great prices -- an excellent chance to pick up great deals on clothes, furniture, toys, tools, and just about anything else you can think of.
This evening portions of Ballard Avenue and Market Street will also begin being closed off to make room for the famous Ballard SeafoodFest which will run through the weekend. For thirty-four years now, the SeafoodFest has been a constant hit and this year will be no different. Come down to enjoy food (including much talked about alder-smoked salmon and lutefisk eating contest), live music, arts, and crafts.
Blackbird will be participating in the fun with its own sidewalk sale selections, as well as further sale markdowns inside the shop. We will also be giving out pairs of Brazil's favourite flip flops, Havaianas, with all purchases of $25 or more (please note that sizes and colors are limited). Of course the new fall arrivals are beginning to arrive at the shop as well so this is an excellent opportunity to come check those out.
