ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Chas was the regional sales manager for a wine and spirits broker for 10 years, where his job was to promote brands with restaurant accounts - "We had all premium brands: Jack Daniels (I've been to the Holler), Bombay (when it first was introduced in americ) Martell, Hennessey, Bols liqueurs, etc. I have managed restaurants in Seattle and for some years now have been designing bar programs for NW hotel/restaurants. I have also written articles for MSN online - but mostly, I really like to drink well." Chas is currently working on his website, but until then he will possibly being doing a series of classes at The Field House, of which this will be the first.
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
This will be the second time Chas joins us, and this time his focus is on whiskey. If you were able to reserve a spot last time before the class filled up, you know that Chas does an excellent job presenting, explaining, mixing, and including us all in the process. The major focuses of the class will be:
1 - Distinguishing the 3 major whiskeys: Scotch, Irish, and American
2 - Establishing a model for creating drinks using whiskeys: problems, best flavor matches3 - Brandy drinks and whiskey drinks: what they have in common and what they don't
4 - The gentlemanly practice of drinking brandy and whiskey straight
To help cover the costs of this special event, there will be a suggested donation of seven dollars.
