OLYMPIC ORCHIDS PERFUMER NIGHT @ BLACKBIRD APOTHECARY

The Apothecary is throwing open its doors for one last epic soiree, and we want you there.

Ellen Covey is our favorite in the "perfumers who are also neuroscientists and orchid farmers" category. The fragrances she makes are really beautiful, affordable, and strange pieces of art. We are thrilled to celebrate her night. The eau de parfum she has crafted for Blackbird is a lush, dark summery scent - blackberries getting overripe in the sun, grass as crackling dry as kindling, and the shadowy branches of fir and cedar trees.

Toss back wine by Wine World and champagne and vodka, eat small things on crackers, and sniff through all of Ellen's fragrances. There will be drawings throughout the evening for many lucky souls to take home perfume and orchid plants. Everything will be on sale next door in Blackbird. The best part, though, will be the people - all our favorite perfume geeks and fanatics, everyone who has supported Blackbird Apothecary and our amazing local perfumers, and all the odd, lovely people we've been lucky enough to meet along the way.
