SEAVEES - BOATING MOCCASIN

In August 1965, at the age of sixteen, Robin Lee Graham sets out from San Pedro, California to sail around the world in his 24- foot sloop Dove. In 1970, after almost five years, he sails back into his home port to successfully complete the youngest solo circumnavigation. Robin Lee Graham's solo global voyage provides the inspiration for the 08/65 Boating Moccasin.

BOIS 1920 - CLASSIC 1920

DETAILS: The initial notes of this scent remind me vaguely of Hinoki's crisp cedar note accented by thyme and turpentine, replaced in Classic 1920 by lemon, and basil. This top note, which is exceptionally clean without overbearing on the nose with overwhelming citrus zest, fades majestically into a glorious chypre blend. Haitian Vetiver plays an important role, not to be outdone by the subtle lavender, apricot, and floral bouquet, touched up with pimento and nutmeg. Of course there's also the Chinese citron and bergamot, which provide the citrus heart to the body of this scent. And to top it all off, the coup de grace, Antilles sandalwood with notes of amber, ambregris, and musk. BOIS 1920 AT THE BLACKBIRD APOTHECARY

The Apothecary is pleased to announce that we now carry four fragrances from Bois 1920, the celebrated Italian perfumery known for their use of the finest raw materials and lasting power. Paraphrased from their brand biography at LuckyThe brand was founded in 1920 in Florence by Guido Galardi when he opened a little shop called Bottega Italiano Spigo, though he was forced to close his doors just five years later as his son showed absolutely no interest in continuing the family business. Fast-forward one generation: Guido's grandson—Enzo—has resurrected the family trade and established Bois 1920 in honor of grandfather, reinterpreting his and subsequently recreating modern renditions of Guido's carefully designed formulas.
