SEATTLE MUSIC SCENE

Back in 2008 some northern Europeans shot this feature on the Seattle music scene. It's pretty good. If you are not from the area, it will give you a clear idea of what it's like around these parts. Just ignore the words you don't understand. It's mostly interviews with English speakers.

Upstairs at Birgitta, we now stock American designer Laura Zindel's ceramic flora and fauna graphic dinnerware. Laura's work is inspired by the Victorian Cabinets of Curiosity, which is the art of collecting and displaying ones' passions. Each piece is hand built and slip cast with white earthenware and then glazed. The images are original pencil drawings that are then printed with enamel and become a ceramic transfer. DETAILS: These cropped jeans have a very authentic pre-loved aesthetic thanks to all the right kinds of distressing; crumpled around the edges, small abrasions around the hip and ankle regions, creasing around the knee, and a waxy finish. Some more of the thoughtful details include: a metal ring at the front left belt loop, a fifth flap pocket with an industrial metal snap, button fly, a crotch panel insert, and a seam above the ankle which helps keep them cuffed. Blackbird is looking for a few interns to assist in various positions around the company. We are looking for a 3 to 5 day commitment, working no less than 20 hours a week. Our interns are rewarded with valuable work experience, personal growth, resume cred and/or college cred plus a generous 40% discount in the store; these are unpaid positions.
